Sandwich Squad
Sandwich Squad is another way we show our love and support for our neighbors. We show up twice a week with delicious sandwiches, salads, and any other kind of nourishing dish; care packs and harm reduction to offer our neighbors at local parks. We meet at the first park lot at Wallace Marine Park on Mondays and on the Commercial side of Marion Square Park on Saturdays. A valid food handler’s card is required to sign up to bring sandwiches or salads. It is also needed to help serve at the parks. If you do not have a food handler’s card, it can be obtained online and if that’s not a thing for you, we have other ways you can help on Sandwich Squad days. Radical Free Market
The Radical Free Market takes place during the spring and summertime months and is a revolutionary space that we have created where the community comes together bringing their clean and gently used items to display and offer for free to our neighbors. Items that are brought to the market and are not gifted away are taken back by the person that brought them. It is not a drop site. We offer a free meal at the market.
Free Fridge Salem sets up a table at the market that hosts examples of some of our offerings to our neighbors like care packs and harm reduction. The Radical Free Market host would answer any questions that someone would have (to the best of their knowledge) about our offerings to our neighbors like Soup Squad, the guidelines for the Radical Free Market, and will also help with the food offering table. market clean up - stay behind (or come just for the end) and make sure that the things from the radical free market are cleaned up and nothing is left behind.
